Good used condition with copy of English instructions.
The Val Evans card rise is one of the best around.
The magician shows a footed slatted board, He also shows a small Houlette, a pack of cards and a cloth. Three cards are now chosen from the pack and returned. The pack is shuffled and placed into the Houlette, which is then placed on the slat board. The magician asks for the name of the first card. On announcing it, the card is seen to rise from the Houlette! It is removed and tossed out to the audience. This is now repeated with the second card. Before causing the third card to rise, the magician drapes the cloth completely over the slat board, thus obstructing anything from possibly coming from underneath. The Houlette is now placed on the covered board. Despite the impossibility of this condition, the third card rises immediately when called out! The Houlette is handed to a spectator with the rising card still protruding, then the board and cloth are further handed to others for full examination. Nothing can be found.
This is the O’Dowd version of the classic apparatus. Absolutely no threads of any kind are used for this wonderful card rise and all the props, Houlette, board, cloth and deck can be completely examined at the finish. Nothing is added or stolen away nor are t any outside gimmicks used; it is entirely self-contained.
This is in nice condition, but not mint. Complete with board, Houlette and full original instructions. The cloth and deck are not gimmicked and not supplied.
