Truth or Dare – Magical Moments

A small packet of playing cards are introduced as a prediction. The spectator is then handed a full deck of playing cards and told to shuffle them and make a random selection of any card desired. The card is removed from the deck by the spectator and the balance of the deck placed aside. You then pick up the small packet of prediction cards, fan them out and let the spectator place his chosen card among the prediction cards. You explain to the spectator that you will ask him several questions about the chosen card, and that the response made can either be a true one or false one. Even with all the possible answers that the spectator can give, the prediction cards will prove that you knew precisely which card would be selected to your questions would be lies or the truth. The cards are cut and you ask the spectator what the value of the cards was. Remind the spectator that they can lie or tell the truth (assume that the selected card is Two of Hearts) The spectator states that the card was a seven. You then deal to the table one card for each letter in the word seven. Drop the remaining cards in your hand on top of the tabled packet, and pick up the whole talon. Then tell the spectator that the card was the seven of something and deal down two cards one at a time for each letter in the word, OF. You again drop the cards in your hand on top of the dealt cards and pick up the whole packet. Now ask the spectator for the suit of the selected card. The response of Diamonds. ( you are obviously not dealing with a truthful person here ) Deal on card for each letter while spelling the word Diamonds. Again you drop the cards in your hand on top of the tabled cards and pick up the whole parcel. Tell the spectator that you have one final question for them; ask then to tell you whether they gave you statements that were true or false. Remind your spectator that they can lie to you or tell the truth even regarding this answer. If they say there statements were the truth you deal down one card for each letter in the word truth. Leave these cards on the table and ask your spectator to tell you honestly what their card was. When they do ask them to turn over the card on top of the packet on the table. It will be the selected card. (The same would be true if they had answered false and you and you had dealt the cards to the table by spelling false.) Now to prove that you knew how the spectator would respond. Tell the spectator that regardless of the countless numbers of responses they could have given you, all of which would have caused you to arrive at a different card, that you were still able to predict the outcome in a very unique fashion. Turn over all of the prediction cards and show them to be blank.
