Abbott’s version of this classic. Blocks are customizable so you are not limited to ABC.

The effect is as fooling as it is charming: Three solid wooden blocks: red, yellow, and blue—are openly displayed and threaded onto a vertical rod standing on a wooden base. A decorative wooden cover is placed over the blocks. When lifted, one block has vanished entirely! The missing block is then found inside a hat that was shown empty just moments before.

You repeat the process: once again placing all three blocks on the rod, with the cover set over them. This time, the vanished block had been sandwiched between the others—yet still disappears and reappears in the hat!

There are no hidden loads, no sleight of hand, and the trick can even be performed surrounded. It’s a classic piece of apparatus magic, reliable and easy to perform—perfect for stage, parlor, or collectors of vintage wooden magic. The tube cover features an eye-catching modernist design, and the props have a nostalgic quality that harks back to the golden age of Abbott’s Magic.
