A fun piece of magic for the children’s entertainer…
The magician shows three “books”, labeled 1, 2 and 3, and within each book is a window “envelope”.
Book 1 contains a picture of a pig whose house was made from straw, and has a yellow circle printed on the back. Book 2 contains a picture of a pig whose house was made from sticks, with a brown circle printed on the back. And Book 3 contains a picture of a pig whose house was made from bricks, with a red circle on the back.
These three pictures are placed inside the books, with the circles showing clearly through the windows. The books are then closed.
A child is enlisted to play the part of the Big Bad Wolf, and is given a pair of wolf ears to help them get into character.
The Wolf Child is asked to “huff, and puff, and blow the house down!” After doing so, each picture is taken out of their book (the circle in full view the whole time, so the audience knows there are no switches). The first picture now shows a scattered pile of hay where the first pig’s house once was. The second picture has changed as well, a collapsed heap of sticks where the second pig’s house used to be.
However, despite all of the Wolf Child’s best efforts, the house of bricks stands firm, just like the classic fairy tale!
