This is a rare larger early Tricks. Co. piece, the catalogue number is SM-8, it is in excellent condition.
Made from wood, and a lot of these larger pieces were at one point made by Mikame for Tricks. Co., no proof if this is the case here. These larger pieces are hard to find. The frame measures approx. 10.5 x 5.5″
On top of all this it is a sucker effect that plays well to an audience. The magician shows the front of a Jumbo card which is the 5 of spades and places the card into a large frame, through cut-outs in the frame the card stays visible at all times. Now the magic begins…..the magician brings the frame behind his back and when it is brought back in front the card has changed into the seven of diamonds….back behind the back again and back is the five of spades…and so on. The protest that the frame is just turned around gets louder and louder….at the end the magician shows that the five of spades has a regular back and the frame is otherwise empty.
The prop is in great shape (it even has the “Made in Japan” sticker still on it and has the original cards and instructions. The red and black cardboard box is supplied in used condition with some marking on the bottom.
Needless to say we have only one and I have not seen these come for sale very often.
