The magician introduces a striking dark wood chest resting in a matching wood caddy. He shows it all around and sets it down in full view. Now a finger ring is borrowed, placed under a silk handkerchief and given to a spectator to hold. The magician snaps his fingers and then whisks the cloth away; the ring has vanished!
Now, the magician shows the caddy all around and then removes the chest, showing it all around. The hasp is unlocked, and the door opened and inside is seen a clear glass with a silk inside. The silk is in keeping with the patter given in the routine. The spectator removes the glass and finds his ring wrapped in the silk inside.
What makes this effect special is the unusual nature of the chest and caddy and how you can really emphasize the security and isolation of the chest. It appears nothing could possibly get inside. The other great feature of this effect is the speed of the load. It happens instantly! No fumbling and no hesitation. Simply take the caddy and the load is done.
The mahogany color combined with the red handles and brass hardware is really striking.
