You show the audience three round, sleek metal tubes that are closed with a screw cap. All three are shaken briefly to demonstrate that nothing is hidden inside. Now unscrew the lid from one of these tubes, insert a small metal bolt and close it again. If you now shake this tube, it rattles loudly and clearly audibly. Now the demonstration of an idiosyncratic “three tube monte” begins: You change the position of the tubes and the spectators have to guess where the one with the bolt is. I’ll be brief. No matter how hard your spectators try, they will always guess wrong. It is literally up to you to decide which tube should rattle or not. But let it be known that you do not have any other aids in your hand or hidden elsewhere. The demonstration is child’s play, can be shown under all conditions and ends with a little surprise.
