Here is a one of a kind piece fashioned after an idea from Dr. Rubinstein. I am not sure who made it but it is based on an idea published in German magazine “Magie” from March 1999. It is also the effect that inspired Tony Lackner later to create his “Mentale Litfassaeule” (Mental Billboard) that was a charming prediction effect released thru Eckhart Boettcher’s Zauberbutike.
A great piece of story telling magic.
“License plates are a fact of life these days, how else would law enforcement be able to keep track of offenders speeding along? But did you know that in Egypt very early on numbers were used to keep track of the herds of camels crossing the great deserts?”
With this or a similar introduction the magician introduces two 3 sided pyramids that have 5 numbers on each side. Also, a set of 10 discs with numbers are introduced and shown to be different.
The magician removes one of the discs and places it back up on the table as his prediction. While his back is turned an audience member gets to select one of the pyramids while a second one then gets to choose which side of numbers is to be used. Until the last minute this selection can be changed. Magician turn around and takes the disc from the table and turns it toward the audience. It is seen that the five numbers on the disc are those that were selected.
Dare I say that this is very easy to perform and the spectator could change his mind at the very last minute!
Made from heavy duty cardboard and wood overall in good condition with some minor scrapes. Pyramids are approx. 12″ tall and discs are 4.25″ diameter. A small stand mentioned in the instructions is missing but can be replaced easily.
I supply the German instructions and no English instructions.
