Jack in the Box by Ian Adair is a clever twist on the “Parade of Kings” effect.
The magician predicts one of four cards freely chosen by a spectator.
This version, featuring the four Jacks, is refreshingly clean and straightforward, with the prediction card shown openly on both sides—no forces, substitutions, sleights, or multiple outs.
Ian’s preferred routine starts with a small empty bag placed on the table for the spectator to examine.
The magician then shows all four Jacks—hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds—front and back, mixes them, and slips one into the bag.
The spectator names any Jack, with full freedom to change their mind, and the chosen card is revealed inside the bag, displayed on both sides.
The set comes with:
- four regular Jacks
- the special gimmick
- a fold-flat paper gift bag for the prediction, adding a playful Jack-in-the-Box touch
- along with detailed instructions for performing this impressive prediction trick.
