Two people are invited on stage to assist in a test of telepathy. One person (the transmitter) selects one of several sealed envelopes, asked to break the seal, and memorize the envelope’s contents, showing no one. The second person (the receiver) is asked to touch hands with the transmitter. Both the receiver and transmitter are then blindfolded.

You, the mentalist, step between them, to act as a conductor for their thoughts. You discuss the nature of precognition, and how the transmitter had a free choice in selecting the envelope. Neither you nor the receiver came close to the envelope. After a moment of showmanship on your part, the receiver will be able to tell the audience what the transmitter was thinking!

At no point during the routine do either participant speak, from the moment they step on stage, until moment where the receiver reveals what the transmitter is thinking.

Inner Ear is an electronic cueing device that allows the receiver to hear information that only they can hear. This item is intended for use on stage. It includes the necessary electronics, as well as a few items for the routine described above.
