Walter Sheppard was a magic manufacturer in Ohio and his pieces seem to just come to the forefront of Collector’s minds. Walter used Meyercord decals on many of his props and built them like a tank. This deluxe piece is a fine example of his work.
A beautiful oriental chest is shown, and a live rabbit is placed inside being visible thru the cut outs in the font of the chest. The magician then hides the rabbit momentarily with a decorated panel and a sword is trusted thru the middle of the chest. The panel is slowly removed and handed to the assistant. The sword can be seen inside the chest but no rabbit. The rabbit has now vanished without a trace.
These are built heavy duty. Given it’s age the piece is in excellent condition with some small knicks and scratches that you would expect.
