Another good one from Germany’s Magiro….this is sort of a play on the “Bill in Lemon” style effects.
A stand is introduced that has an upright metal rod. A wedding ring is borrowed and placed over the rod. a clear drinking glass is then placed inverted over rod and base and secured with large rubber bands. Thru shaking the magician demonstrates that there is no way for the ring to escape from the rod without removing the rubber bands and glass. The glass is then covered with a silk and handed to a spectator for safe-guarding.
Now a basket full of real eggs is introduced and a spectator gets to freely pick one of them which is placed in a wooden egg cup.
Spectator removes silk and find that the ring managed to escape from the rod, it is nowhere to be found. Spectator offers a small snack as compensation, raw egg anybody? Spectator is handed a spoon to crack the egg at the top, then magician shows his hands empty and proceeds to bring the ring from the egg using a small metal hook.
It is a strong effect and it is a very clever solution that Magiro has thought out. Please note that the ring really is brought out from the egg so it will have egg white and yellow over it. You will have a cloth and water ready to sufficiently clean it before it can be returned,
The glass is un-gimmicked and not supplied. Should you not have a fitting glass already than a trip to the used restaurant supply dealer will need to be on your list. The glass needs to fit over the base and just tall enough on the inside that the rod touches the inside bottom. There is a little screw at the glass that allow for small adjustment in height with the rod to help with the fit. The glass pictured (not supplied) is a standard glass manufactured by Libby but I am confident that you will find a better one. Worst case a plastic fabricator can sell you a remnant of a clear plastic tube with a bottom glued on it.
You receive the special egg cup, the base with rod and some rubber-bands. You will need to provide a large silk, the glass and a basket full of eggs. The German instructions by Magiro are supplied as well as a short English write-up.
