When I first read card in balloon, I had a clear picture in my mind what it would look like. Leave it to the defunct Tricks. Co. in Japan to bring a prop that is entirely different.
It packs flat and is clever!
A card which has been chosen by a spectator is torn into small pieces, one of the pieces is given to the spectator to hold on to for identification. The other pieces are placed into an envelope which is then burned. A balloon is placed in an octagonal frame and then made to burst. As it does a card appears in the center of the frame which has a missing corner. The spectator verifies that the piece he is holding is indeed the piece missing from the card.
