Thanks to the recent work of Troy Hooser, Nate Kranzo, Garrett Thomas, Josh Jay, and several others, the flipper coin is experiencing a tremendous resurgence. Roy Kuepper’s gravity flippers have the thinnest-possible groove, and it’s deep enough for two standard bands or one Forever Band.
A coin is shown from both sides. The coin is held between the thumb & first finger of the left hand & held by the outside of the coin. The right hand is shown empty & passes in front of the coin. The left hand now displays 2 coins between the same fingers. The right hand now takes one of the coins away leaving one coin between the left thumb & forefinger. The right hand is opened to reveal that the second coin has VANISHED! This coin has many possibilities & will definitely be one of your personal favorites.
High Quality, made in the USA!
Comes with “Forever Bands”: The Forever Band is unlike any other band on the market and it was created and is manufactured by Roy Kueppers personally. The name Forever refers to the fact that these bands will never deteriorate. The material I use to make the band is not rubber and therefore has a shelf life of 30 plus years. One of the biggest drawbacks of a flipper or folding coin is that the bands rots inside the groove if left unattended for even a short period of time and after a few months in storage it becomes almost impossible to remove from the groove as it tends to crystaslize and needs to be picked out one little piece at a time. The F-Band makes this issue non existent.
This is an extreme advantage over the traditional bands and filament line that is being used by other manufacturers. The line versions require tiny knots to be made when replacing it which is not only troublesome but tedious and not possible for many people. The F-Band can be replaced as easily as the traditional rubber bands without extra tools or patience.
In regards to durability of the band, it has great flexibility and keeps its shape even over long periods of time as a result of the material its made from. Breakage is still possible because of the bending and folding action against the edges of the coin where its been cut. To reduce the risk of breakage and extend the life of the band I personally hand file each corner of the cuts in the coin however, because of the rubbing action against those edges, the band still is susceptible to breakage.
Please note that the term Forever Band only refers to the life of the material in which it is made from. in my opinion thats a huge benefit.
