A box, its top. and a single die are shown. A spectator is given the box to hold behind his back. He is then given the die and told to place it in the box behind his back. Lastly, he is given the cover and told to place it on the box concealing the die. He is then told to bring his hands out in front of himself, the box resting on the palm of one hand. The performer can then reveal in a number of ways the number that appears on the face-up side of the die. What gives this effect a particular punch is that the magician apparently has at no time handled the box or die until after the selected number is revealed.
