From an estate we got this amazing carved version of the well know trick “Balloon to Rabbit” It would need to be a small rabbit, but twin doves would also work. The top and sides are beautifully carved and then lacquered.
A long balloon is inserted thru the holes in the sides of a cabinet which can be seen to be empty thru the front opening. Balloon burst and a small rabbit or two doves appear.
As you can see the unit is unusual as it is carved. I believe this might be from Indonesia, Cambodia or India. A early piece, heavy duty.
The second picture shows a defect on the top back corner on the left. This does neither affect the function nor the appearance of the prop from front or side. It could probably be made less visible by sanding it down and applying lacquer.
Approx. 10 x 11 x 6,5″, 6.5 lbs
We supply the apparatus only, no livestock, balloons or instructions.
