Recently found in an estate from New Jersey….
There are five boxes that graduate in size from approximately 5 inches square (largest) to 2-1/2 inches square (smallest).
They appear to be home crafted out of re-purposed Cedar Cigar Box Wood and have a great antique patina with all the scuffs and bumbps you would expect from such an antique piece.
The boxes are very nicely made, amazingly precise and fit neatly inside one another.
They all have hinged lids with clasps and rings on the top to lift them out with.
It is a no assistant set of boxes and the method to load the item is both simple and was new to me.
Well constructed a nice collectible treasure….definitely an older piece.
Interesting for both the magic as the folk art collector.
No instructions.
