Display a wooden rod with three silks (eg. 2 red and 1 blue) hanging down. The blue silk is at one end. You tell the audience that the blue silk is acrobatic, it can jump from one place to the other, which you demonstrate. Pass the rod behind your back and now the blue silk has jumped to the opposite end. Repeat this a couple of times, each time the blue silk jumps to the opposite end. The audience realizes that you are fooling them by simply turning the rod around. They challenge you to make the blue silk jump to the middle. After some funny byplay the blue silk jumps to the middle of the three silks. (Please note that silk colors will vary) This is the quality version of the trick which will last a long time. you could easily exchange the silks if you needed special colors for a show. The silks are approx.. 18″ when measured diagonally so can be seen for a bigger crowd….
