This would benefit from polishing. The cards, wooden stick and instructions are not supplied. As far as the cards they would be easy to make.
This is one of those rarer brass items by Bob Solari. It works the same way as the Match Box Penetration, but it uses a much bigger piece of brass to fit a deck of cards.
I think the routine is better with than the original matchbox version and there is a great line that makes me smile just before you reveal the brass block: “There is a little piece of something blocking the hole in the card case.” Then you proceed to dump out this huge block of brass. Classic Solari!
The performer is seen holding in one hand a deck of cards in their case, and a wooden skewer in the other. The Performer slowly pushes the skewer through the center of the card case. The cards and card case is now impaled on the skewer. The Spectator thinks that there is simply a hole through the centers of the cards. The skewer is removed from the card case. The Spectator is handed the skewer and is asked to push it through the card case just as the Performer did. The Performer holds the card case as the Spectator tries and fails. Something (?) seems to be preventing the skewer from going through the card case. The Performer opens the flap on the case and proceeds to remove some cards with holes punched through the centers. The Performer tilts the card case downward slightly. A SOLID BRASS PLATE falls from the case to the table! The SOLID BRASS PLATE is the EXACT SAME SIZE as the cards but has NO HOLE IN IT! The SOLID BRASS PLATE is also 1/4″ THICK AND WEIGHTS NEARLY A POUND!
Precision machining makes this miracle possible. No sleight of hand required, instant reset, card case is not gimmicked, learn in 5 minutes, SOLID BRASS PLATE measures 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ x 1/4″ thick.
