Steve Hart brings us a very clever adaption of a classic trick where a puzzle is formed using a set number of puzzle pieces and then miraculously seemingly the same puzzle is formed leaving one or two puzzle pieces off.
Steve has used this classic trick and turned it into a very clever marketing piece for meetings that is surprising and very memorable and best of all gets your business card right into the hands of the person you are meeting with.
You ask the person you are meeting with what the largest bill currently being used in the USA and they will respond the $100 bill. So you offer to show them something using a $100 bill that illustrates how you and them working together can be very beneficial for the future.
With this you bring a small wooden tray from your briefcase on which a $100 dollar bill can be seen. You comment that it is oversize just like the profits you will be helping them realize thru closer relationships with their clients….
Slowly you take the puzzle pieces out of the frame and then reassemble the pieces in the frame. This time the banknote is even larger but has a rectangular opening in the center. You say you have the missing piece for bigger profits right here in your pocket and with that you bring out your business card and drop it in the opening.
Once the smiles and surprise subside you can give the decision maker with the words: “Here is your missing piece” and then explain your services and how they would be beneficial to them.
They will keep that card on file for a long time.
In Wolfgang’s routine you start with a small envelope that holds a prediction as a centerpiece in full view on your table. When performing the effect where the prediction comes into use, he slides the tray (that has been in full view all the time) towards a spectator. “I am sure you have been wondering about this puzzle that has been sitting right here on the table. I want to explain what it is about. Please take out the envelope and puzzle pieces. hand the tray and puzzle back to me and hold on to the envelope for just a little while.” You quickly assemble the $100 note and say that in case the prediction you made before the show and that was visible the entire time fails, they will get a real $100 bill from you. Of course they get to open the envelope, read the prediction and you gotta keep the money.
The tray overall is approx. 12.75″ by 6.25″. The opening fits a standard business card or coin envelope around 3.5″ by 2″.
A lot of fun and while surely get your creative juices flowing.
