Here is an interesting item from Germany’s Eckhard Boettcher. You bring out a little box that is expertly crafted in black and white from acrylic. On the lid the numbers 1-49 have been engraved and then filled in in black. Inside the box you find 7 little squares that have different areas where four numbers at a time can be made visible (Each of the seven squares shows four different numbers). Several different presentations are possible and described…one of the routines would have the performer turn around while a spectator selects one of the squares and places it on the number field. he then covers it up with a red cover. Even without the performer knowing which of the squares was selected and in which direction it was placed on the number field the performer is able to make a prediction and writes it down. The cover is removed and the four visible numbers are added, the result matches with the number the magician has written down. Of course the results are different from square to square and from placement to placement so this can be repeated immediately with different outcome. The second routine described in the instructions covers how to use these props in connection with a book test. The squares are approx. 1.75″ and the box is approx. 4.25×4.25×1″
