Effect: The magician reveals an ornate cabinet with front doors that swing open to display an empty interior. The magician’s assistant enters the illusion and is secured by arm and leg shackles. The doors are closed, and the magician inserts two large blades through the cabinet — one appearing to pass through the assistant’s neck and the other just below her torso.

For one last glimpse, the magician opens the top and bottom doors — the assistant’s head and feet are still visible. But when the middle doors are opened, her torso has astonishingly vanished! To prove the illusion, the back door is opened, allowing the audience to see cleanly through the cabinet.

With a wave of the magician’s hand, the doors are closed, the blades removed, and upon reopening the doors — the assistant is fully restored! The shackles are released, and the magician and assistant triumphantly take their bows.
