Good used coBoth tubes are demonstrated to be empty and a yellow, two-inch block to be solid. The tubes are stacked as shown, separated by a sheet of glass, and the block dropped into the upper tube.
Passage of the block down the tube can be visually confirmed through the circular cutouts and the sound of its impact distinctly heard. Immediately, the block is seen to emerge from the lower tube, the glass shown to be intact, and the tubes empty.
