Dr. Stanley Jaks invented the Supersonic Card Prediction c. 1948 and it was a big hit worldwide. U.F. Grant used it as his inspiration for Slate of Mind. Many versions of this effect have been produced in both mini, regular and jumbo cards.
This is a pretty standard version with regular sized cards.
Effect: The effect is as follows: A stand made of wood and also swings around showing both sides. Six cards are removed from a shuffled deck and placed on the stand backs out. It’s then spun around to show the cards all different. Again it’s turned, and the backs are toward the audience. You then write a prediction on a piece of paper and give it to a spectator to hold. Anyone of the spectators is asked to say STOP! /Is the magician fingers move over the cards. Or the spectator may be asked to name a number from one to six:. You count over to the number he names and removes the card at the number, you spin the stand around so that all the cards face the audience and reinsert the card you remove back out.
The spectator is asked to now read the prediction you then turn the stand and THERE’S THE VERY SAME CARD YOU PREDICTED FACING THE SPECTATORS, all the rest of the cards are back out!
