Long & Short Tubes

Imported from Spain. This is one of the Close-Up tricks that can drive people crazy….I like it a lot. The classic presentation for this trick used a match and cigarette but do not fear there are many other items that can be used. Magicians brings out two brushed Aluminum tubes and points out that one is shorter than the other. Spectator can decide if a cigarette is placed in the longer or shorter tube. Let’s assume he picks the shorter one. He himself places the cigarette in the short tube and a match in the longer tube. Both are closed with a small brass plug….magician offers to make the cigarette travel to the long tube and the match to the short one……But before the spectators can verify he reverses the action, so the cigarette is once again in the short tube….yeah I know kind of lame….the magician hands the tubes to a spectator to hold and claims that indeed he made the cigarette jump to the long tube. The spectator can open both tubes and finds the match in the shorter one, while the cigarette is now in the long tube. Everything can be examined…. Instead of cigarette and match you can use different colored pencils, straws etc. Don’t overlook this one…..you will easily have 3-5 minutes of fun filled entertainment.
